It is a film by Japanese director Akira Kurosawa called, aptly, Dreams. The film is comprised of eight short vignettes, based on the director’s dreams, and deals with many concepts close to the spirit of Boabom: wonder, imagination, inspiration, and nature. Though I don’t want to spoil the film, I have included here the last vignette, which echoes many ideas which have come up again and again in this Journal, among them the importance of nature, of living a natural life, and of appreciating and enjoying that life! Though all of the vignettes are not so uplifting as this one, and some even could be called nightmares, I recommend that everyone see and enjoy this film!!!

The movie for this night was ‘The Green Beautiful’. 

It was a pleasant surprise for many. This movie has unique futuristic content and a great sense of ecological and planetary awareness. It shows another perspective on the culture and habits with which we live, and makes us question why we live the way we do and why we do what we consider ‘normal’. With beautiful photography, it’s a fun movie that makes you think. 

The story tells of Mila, an alien woman from another planet, who decides to visit Earth when no other alien wants to go to such primitive and wild place. She lands in the middle of contemporary Paris. 

This movie is highly recommended, a great choice without a doubt! If you enjoy Boabom and the energy of the School, you have to see this movie–you’ll definitely have a nice surprise!
