i had very early after beginning at The Boston School of Boabom, been lucky enough to attend a Meditation Seminar, given at The School. Never having had any prior experience with meditation, i was unsure as to what i should expect. As with all things related to The Boston School of Boabom it was a wonderful and most positive experience. The Teachers and Students filled the room with enough positive energy and enthusiasm, for even one as oblivious as i, to feel comfortable. The introduction and discussion set my fear of being brainwashed at ease. Fact being, all anyone would have needed to brainwash me back then, would have been a wet paper towel!

i honestly and truly relaxed to an amazing degree! Possibly due to my being both physically and mentally at ease from the exercises we learned. The atmosphere, the Teachers, and the Students, all made it very easy for me. In doing so, through the course of the seminar, i learned to be at ease with myself as well. Although only a fleeting taste of what may be possible some day through extensive work and experience. Meditation is work after all, the work of filtering out all the interruptions my noggin sends me. In doing so the quiet provides opportunity to reevaluate more clearly, what is honestly going on in my life.

When i first began to meditate, thoughts of what was at the present time a bother in my life, would intrude, so as to distract me. As i practiced the exercises and lessons from the seminar, i got better at meditating. The better i get at meditating, the better i get at me. When i can at times get my mind to hush. Those brief moments are pure insightful relaxation.

i like to meditate either in a recliner or lying down. So there is always the possibility of turning my meditation into a nap. My early attempts led to some most memorable snoozes! A form of Sleepitation which provides for a most relaxed practitioner. Yeah, i wasn’t sleeping … i was meditating! Noooooo, i wasn’t snoring, that’s meditation breathing. Just sounds like snoring!! Like any self improvement program meditating is best practiced on a regular basis. Meditation has many forms and avenues. Some aspects of my day can at times mimic the meditation in movement, that i sometimes experience in a Boabom class. Likewise simply going for a walk can prove a most rewarding and healthy form of meditation. Yes you can meditate while walking, working, anywhere! Who knew? Thanks to an amazing seminar i now do! And whenever possible i do just that!

If i have learned anything, it is that meditation is about and for me. It allows me to stop, relax, and find my own answers. But more so, as it shows positive realizations and growth in me, it also positively impacts those in my life as well. If you ever have the opportunity, i would highly recommend attending a Seminar on Meditation taught by Asanaro. From experience it may prove to be time very well spent. Which may help you to better spend your time…

Possibly be the start of something new for you and those in your life as well.

Also from experience, meditation is so much healthier and cheaper than medication! My experience has been there are no down sides to meditating. Except of course, my bartender was sad when i started meditating, and stopped my frequent need to medicate!!!!!!

Sojammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Actually it is more about how I came to be here, at The Boston School of Boabom. I had begun to question many things: things about me, my life, how and what I had accepted. I felt a need for change. A need to start searching again. I believe I did so when younger, although with no purpose or direction. More wandering, or possibly, an effort to outdistance something that did not fit. Something that was just not right. Quite simply… me.

Lots of time spent wandering the electronic world of the internet; it really can be an amazing tool if properly utilized. So much quicker and so much easier on your feet than the old way. As I was saying, I spent hours searching for an answer. What I really found was direction, or more correctly put, opportunity. One of the lessons learned as a result of my short time studying at The Boston School of Boabom is that if you want to learn, if you want to change, it is possible. The opportunity for change, healthy, positive change is there if you are willing to invest in yourself. The Art can present some pretty amazing opportunities for change, or improvement.

One night while researching karma and all things I could find associated with it, I was fortunate enough to have my electronic journey or wanderings lead me to The Mmulargan School. It was really quite an extraordinary journey as one site led to another, one subject branched off to yet another: I journeyed to India, China and Tibet. I read of religions, Yoga, the mind, things magical and mystical. Somehow my wanderings led me back to things Tibetan. I took an electronic path which led me somehow to forms of self defense. This led to what little I could learn of Tibetan forms of self defense. This is how I learned of Boabom. After reading the information from the Mmulargen School’s web site I was very motivated to learn more. There was something which felt right, more right than anything I had felt for a very long time, if ever. Upon learning there was a School in Brookline, Massachusetts the clouds parted and trumpets sounded (ok, ok, a little too dramatic!). But I was driven to learn, to learn more of what ever this ancient Art had to offer.

I called The Boston School of Boabom the very next day. My call was returned by a very well spoken and cheerful man named SEE A KNEE (or that’s how I heard it and pronounced it). He explained the School and its classes briefly. I decided to just jump right in and sign up for a month: no intro class required. I knew this was going to be a match.

My first class was not an ego boost by any means. So many of the strange movements I was unable to do. But as I progress, there are always movements I struggle with before being able to accomplish them, to varying degrees of competency. A Teacher with an even stranger and more unpronounceable name led the class. She was quite friendly and supportive. As were all the students in the class. The Teacher repeatedly told me to take it easy and just go slow for the first few classes. I tried to listen and comply, but the recessive ‘Guy Gene’ became dominant. The ‘Guy Gene’ circulated through my bloodstream ’til coming to rest somewhere in the vast open area between my ears. It began saying stuff like: “this isn’t so tough” “you can do this”, “push it”, “don’t listen to her, push it!”, “faster, harder”!!

After the first class I felt great, relaxed and at the same time pumped up. The next day or so I felt like I had been run over by a bus, a bus driven by a Teacher with a strange name. This bus had a horn which when sounded said “TAKE IT EASY”!!!!!!!

I can’t remember anything of my second class, possibly due to the fact I sat home icing my aching EVERYTHING. Since then I still have a slight tendency to overdo it and not pace myself so well. Ok, maybe more than a slight tendency. Still struggling with that lesson. But everything Boabom is truly healthy, positive, healing and amazing!

As to the opening question: why am I here? Well I guess the answer is twofold. Firstly I want to be here to learn and to make positive changes. Secondly I am here to undue a lot of bad past decisions!

This past Monday, some students and teachers from the Boston School of Boabom ventured into the crowds along Beacon Street to flyer at the Boston Marathon!!! We had a great afternoon, walked a lot, and spoke to many people from all over the state!

Sayani Yemado and Tiem Nai Ryan from the northern Boabom schools were there, and along with them we would like to thank Katja and Russen for their help. Also, a HUGE EXTRA SPECIAL energy goes to Amber, for successfully giving a flyer to EVERY KID in Brookline!!!!

We met some nice people, saw some weird things, and in general had a great day!!!
